                  Minutes of a Regular Monthly Meeting                               of the Planning and Zoning Commission

State of Tennessee                                  Lewisburg, Tennessee            County of Marshall                                November 20, 2007

The City of Lewisburg Planning and Zoning Commission met Tuesday, November 20, 2007, 4:00 p.m. at Lewisburg City Hall, 131 East Church Street.

Members Present:   Jim Bingham, Bill Holly, Robin Minor,        Karen Stoltz, Britt Wiles

Members Absent:  Bill Marsh, Gary Davis                                             

Also Present:   Greg Lowe, Eddie Fuller, Local Planner Lisa Keylon, Larry Jones,Terry Wallace, Bob Binkley, Doylete Gibson, Tony Sanders, Angie Sanders,Chris Johnston, Steven Mead, Gerald Schmelzer, J.W. Harper, Billy Davis, Arnold Lilly, Jim Thomas, Marleny Romero, Jr., Beverly George, Everett Bradford,              Carol Thomas

Chairman Bingham called the meeting to order.

Old Business:

1.  Motion was made by Bill Holly to approve the minutes of the regular meeting held on October 16 and the special call minutes of October 30. 

New Business:

1.  Chairman Bingham requested a subcommittee be formed to study and hold training sessions pertaining to grading and site plan requirements and the flood map for the City of Lewisburg.

2.  Chris and Jackie Johnston requested rezoning of property located at 969 Midway, from low density residential to intermediate business, for the purpose of operating a kennel. 

Several citizens spoke against the request, and a signed petition by area residents opposing the proposed rezoning was presented to the Commission. 

Motion was made by Karen Stoltz to deny rezoning request.

Motion Passed:  5 – 0

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at     4:45 p.m.
