Minutes of the Planning and Zoning Commission

State of Tennessee                     Lewisburg, Tennessee County of Marshall                      September 7, 2004

The City of Lewisburg Planning and Zoning Commission met Tuesday, September 7, 4:00 p.m. at Lewisburg City Hall, 131 East Church Street.

Members Present:   Jim Bingham, Britt Wiles, Wayne Bailey, Bill Holly, Bill Marsh

Members Absent:   None

Also Present:  Bryant Baugher, Micah Woods, Glenn Wright, Gary Finley, Mike Wood, Leroy Mullins, Curly Bradford, John Chunn

Old Business:

1) Motion to approve the minutes of the previous meeting of August 3, 2004 was made by Bill Holly.

Seconded By:  Britt Wiles

For:  Holly, Wiles, Bingham, Bailey, Marsh

Motion Passed:  5 - 0

New Business:

1) Rex Richardson and Jeff Poarch requested rezoning of property they own lying South of Fox Lane and East of CSX Railroad from “R-1” (Low Density Residential) to    “R-2” (Medium Density Residential).

Motion to approve rezoning was made by Britt Wiles.

Seconded By:  Wayne Bailey

For:  Wiles, Holly, Bingham, Bailey, Marsh

Motion Passed:  5 – 0

2) John Chunn and Preston Blackmon are requesting preliminary plat approval of Timberhill Subdivision, Section 4.          

Motion to approve site plan, with road grade variance of more than 15 degree, was made by Bill Holly.

Seconded By:  Bill Marsh

For:  Wiles, Holly, Bingham, Bailey, Marsh

Motion Passed:  5 – 0

3) CEI Engineering Associates, Inc. requested site plan approval for a Murphy Oil USA gas station to be located at 1370 Rock Crusher Road.

Motion to approve site plan subject to R. L. Williams, Public Works Director, approving erosion control was made by Bill Holly.

Motion Passed:  5 - 0

4) Item Withdrawn

Other Business

1) Appreciation was given to Mike Wood, State Planner, for his dedicated service to the City of Lewisburg.  Mr. Wood will be leaving his position with the City and will be replaced by Micah Woods.
